Adobe Premiere Stresses Me Out...
Now that the multimedia report is finished my final step was to burn my video onto a DVD. However, when I tried to open up the project all my clips were not showing up. I believe it was because the computer that I had to use did not support my files which is why Adobe could not locate them in the project.
I spent an hour trying to figure it out but no luck; it seemed I only had two options left:
1. To try and locate the already exported, but hard to find, file from the week before or
2. Start all over again on my home PC using Movie Maker
Thankfully after much desperation and determination, I finally located an exported file that I could hand in.

Editing
Editing with Adobe Premiere proved to be a challenging task and I probably would have preferred to use something like i-Movie however, I felt that I should attempt something new and that after experimenting I will have increased my knowledge about the software. The arrangement of the clips flow nicely with the initial storyboard and with a few more small additions. The only major problem is that the playback of the film lags quite a bit and I hope that its not because of the quality of the clips but rather the program and that it will resolve itself once I export the film.
However, the soundtrack goes well with the film and certain beats sync with some of the movements which make the film form together nicely. My final piece of editing is adding relevant text such as the title and the end title including the Nokia logo. Challenges I found with this task was to find a suitable font that is a close match to the font Nokia uses. Very standard, plain font yet it is crucial that they have some resemblance or else it won't look right.

below are example from the real Nokia adverts
I added some text snearer to the end to keep it interesting and to reinforce the focus of the colour-changing tiles. I animated them a little by simply changing the colours of the words again to link it back to the coloured tiles. It made the advert seem much more vibrant.

Final Script
“NOKIA LUMIA 520 – Colourful Tiles”
Written by
Nasima Ahmed
FADE IN.
INT. – ANIQA’S BEDROOM -
DAY
It is 6.59AM and ANIQA is sleeping. Low angle shot of windows
with curtains drawn open and sun is shining through, quick shots of objects
around room to establish setting. A CU shot of her Nokia mobile on the table
and suddenly the alarm goes off at 7AM. Home screen tiles are pink to match ANIQA’s pajamas.
High angle shot of the bed as ANIQA pulls back the covers to get
up. Only lower part of body is in view.
Camera is at ground level next to bed. ANIQA’s feet reach the
floor, gets up off the bed, picks up the phone and walks straight into the
camera.
A MCU of ANIQA’s blue hoodie on the door knob, ANIQA reaches
into the shot to pull the hoodie out of view.
Over the shoulder shot of ANIQA raising phone up, home screen
tiles now appear blue to match the hoodie. Now we have a CU shot of the phone
straight into the camera. ANIQA taps a social media app and updates her profile.
Medium wide shot of wardrobe; ANIQA is stood in the centre and
opens both doors simultaneously.
Extreme close up view from almost within the wardrobe, ANIQA’s
hand comes into the shot and hovers over the hanged clothing in a browsing
manner.
ANIQA pulls out a jumper. Camera is now positioned behind ANIQA
where she then swings it out into the camera then the camera moves back where time
ANIQA has it on and rolls up sleeves.
Next, over the shoulder shot, ANIQA swings her handbag onto the
bed in front of her. ANIQA pulls out the NOKIA to view the weather app, this time
the home tiles appear orange to match the bag. CU - Weather states that it will
rain and ANIQA throws an umbrella into her bag as she walks over to her make up
table.
POV, high angle shot as ANIQA places the NOKIA down on the table
with home screen up. Stop motion animated scene of the home screen tiles
changing colour. Final colour is set to olive green.
A side view of the phone in close up. ANIQA has just put a olive
coloured jacket on, turns around, grabs the NOKIA off the table and walks out
of shot.
Nokia logo appears with a slogan underneath.
FADE OUT.
END.

Colour changing tiles
In one scene I wanted to just have the camera rolling whilst the titles on the phone changed colour.
Initially I was going to do stop motion to achieve it, however I also wanted to have some movement in the background. After much consideration I have come up with a clever solution!
Here is the result:

Going back to the drawing board
After reviewing the video that I made I have decided that I want to use a different brand. I want to keep the video idea and style of filming, however I feel I should change up some scenes to make it look like a better advertisement. I'm discarding the fashion route and going for a technology one.
Experimental video
To see whether I was on the right track with my ideas I decided to create a quick video with my phone to test out the shots I wanted to use. I used anything that I could find to help prop my phone in place and then I used Movie Maker to quickly edit the clips.
The filming and editing is very amateur however it allows me to make decisions about what will work and what is relevant or not.
I used my story board and script to help guide me

The soundtrack is taken from the previous video that I posted just for the purpose of my experiment.
There are some aspects that I feel I should change and after making this video I can make better decisions on what will be relevant to my piece.
Hopefully once all my ideas are clear then I will be able to use better equipment and editing software

My assignment idea + planning
I have finally come to a decision on what my film assignment will be about.
I will be doing a "Monday Minute" style of video where it will feature items from clothing brand, H&M.(Subject to change)
This will be a lookbook style of advertisement in an average setting meaning that the audience will be able to relate. The intended audience are females between the ages 17-30 to indicate that this fashion brand is stylish, sophisticated yet still 'youth' trendy in a grown up way.
In industry this would be a set up for a series of videos where there would be different scenarios and characters each time, also the audience would be able to participate through social media by uploading their own style/outfit pictures. (using hash tags #MondayMinuteHM)
This is a great way of using social media to bring in more attention to the brand and to create a sense of belonging to the customers.
The main forms of digital media that I will be using is film and text. There are possibilities for the use of stop motion animation as well. It is also most likely that there will be no voice-over, instead I will just include a soundtrack and some sound effects.

Stop motion animation!
I had a go at creating a stop motion clip. I may decide to include this type of media in my assignment.
As well as it being stop motion, I turned it into a GIF so it plays continuously!

Inspiration video
I'm subscribed to the Youtuber, Clare, and her latest video gave me major inspiration for this assignment!!
I'm thinking to go down the product placement/marketing route for my film and maybe highlight my favourite brands or even just picking one brand whose products/items that I own a lot of and doing a sort of advertisement for them (for example, a lookbook for H&M?)
